Turbo Pumps
The HiPace(TM) turbo pumps from Pfeiffer Vacuum (Nashua, NH) are available in pumping speeds from 10 – 700 liters/sec. They incorporate a new rotor design that reduces run-up time and provides high gas throughput and compression for light gases. The pumps’ rotor design provides up to 30% faster pumping speeds with up to 200% higher throughput. In addition, the pumps’ higher foreline pressure tolerance and lower weight reduces set-up costs.
The pumps are available in various drive versions, including Profibus and DeviceNet. The integrated drive electronics reduces bulky and costly cabling. The pumps can be installed in any orientation and are also available in corrosive-gas versions. For free info Visit

1.18 × 3.19". Model 5002FZ pumps are 1.99
× 1.18 × 4.88" and have twin heads.
Both are oil-less. Standard materials include thermoplastic
housings with ethylene propylene diene monomer diaphragms.
Optional housing and diaphragm materials are available
for use with aggressive media. Open flow is rated at
400 ml/min for single-head, and 850 ml/min for twin-head.
Maximum pressure is rated at 40 m H2O, and maximum dry
suction is 6 m H2O. Both 12 VDC and 24 VDC versions
are available, with electromechanical compatibility
protection included.

Pneumatic
Valve
I&J Fisnar (Fair Lawn, NJ) has released the VMP30H
multipurpose mini-poppet pneumatic valve designed for
controlled dispensing of low to high viscosity materials
such as silicone, epoxy, rubber adhesives, and greases.
The poppet design minimizes surface area and friction
between the valve and the material. A diaphragm located
between the driving parts and the wetted parts increases
valve life. Shot sizes may be fine-tuned by turning
the control knob at the top of the valve. The valve
features a “suck-back” effect, where material
is drawn back into the fluid body at the end of the
dispensing cycle.

Piston
Pumps
The Series 2665/2685 WOB-L piston pumps by Thomas Products
Div. (Sheboygan, WI) incorporates epoxy-coated head
and valve plates for exterior corrosion protection,
aluminum construction, and a Teflon piston seal that
remains flexible even in cold. The pumps are intended
for use where fan guards are not required; Series 2685
motor and cylinder. All series 2265/2685 pumps provide
up to 100 psi of pressure, and a pressure relief valve
is also included. Thermally protected AC motors are
of ultra-reliable permanent split capacitor design.
Maximum flow for pumps equipped with 115 VAC 60 Hz single
phase motors is rated at 3.68 CFM; maximum flow for
pumps equipped with 220-240 VAC 50 Hz single phase motors
is 3.23 CFM.

Collet
Chuck
Lexair (Lexington, KY) has announced the Lexair/ Production
Dynamics Full Bore® chuck, a mechanical-grip, air-release,
front-mounted collet chuck designed to make the full
spindle bore available to handle larger bar stock. The
design eliminates the conventional draw tube and external
actuator. Air is used only to open the chuck. Spring
force holds the workpiece while it is being machined,
and the part remains clamped even if air pressure is
lost. Since clamping force is constant regardless of
spindle speed, higher speeds can be reached during machining.
Clamping force is adjustable by tightening or loosening
the collet using the spanner holes.
The chuck features adjustable concentricity and dead-length
positioning to allow hex, round, and square bar feeding
with fast collet or pad changes. Pads are available
in 1/16" increments for round, smooth stock and most
sizes for round serrated, hex, and square stock. It
is available in nine models with diameters ranging from
6.75" to 14".

Compact
Cylinder
The RLQ series from SMC Corporation of America (Indianapolis,
IN) is a compact cylinder with an integrated locking
mechanism and air cushions. It is available in bore
sizes of 32, 40, 50, and 63 mm. By using the same extrusion
as the cylinder itself, the lock unit portion of the
cylinder does not have unnecessary projections. The
one-way lock mechanism is lightweight, allowing installation
in tight spaces. The air cushion design does not require
a cushion ring, and reduces the overall length of the
cylinder.

Industrial
Pumps
D/G/M03 Kel-Cell® series industrial pumps from Wanner
Engineering (Minneapolis, MN) feature Diaphragm Position
Control technology, with Buna-n and Viton® diaphragms.
The pumps can control the position of the diaphragm
under a variety of inlet conditions to provide diaphragm
rupture protection. The pumps provide maximum capacity
of 3.0 gpm at 1750 rpm, maximum inlet pressure to 250
psi, and pressure variable to 1200 psi. They can be
close-coupled to a NEMA 56c faced or metric motor, or
belt-driven. The pumps are self-priming and can run
dry without damage. They can be used to pump clean fluids
or non-lubricating fluids, abrasive solutions, caustics,
corrosives, and high-temperature fluids.
